The summer exhibition opens on Saturday 29th June at 1PM. More details will be posted here nearer the opening date.
The main exhibitors in 2024 are Michaela Karnaus, Kate Oddlin Hoås and Sirikit Gout Bomstad.
Kate Hoås is 38 years old and comes from Jølster. All her life she has been very interested in art, and was a keen artist as a child and in her early teens. Kate was always told that it was something she had a knack for, but there was less drawing and painting as she grew older and in early adulthood.
After busy years of study and many years of working life, Kate took up an interest in drawing. Kate found that drawing, making prints and measuring helped her find peace and this gave Kate a joy she had forgotten in the busy years from adolescence onwards.

Michaela Karnaus grew up at St. Hanshaugen in Oslo. She has always been creative, and followed this path as far as possible. She found early joy in decorating, and started working in a flower shop at the age of 12. Else has, among other things, studied to become an interior design consultant, and was self-employed. The whole time she has been painting a picture.
Her mother was very good at drawing and painting realistically, and has been an inspiration. Michaela later found her way to Nydalen Art School, where she attended evening school for 3 years, and learned a lot. Her expression is intuitive and modern, and always with her own twist. Sometimes she paints realistic pictures, but says herself that this does not give her much. She has also tried her hand at digital art.

Sirikit Gout Bomstad is Norwegian/Dutch, 63 years old and lives in Balsfjord, Troms.
From an early age, she has enjoyed drawing and painting and is probably above average interested in form and colour. For many years she has worked with flowers and interiors, before in later years she worked as a Personal assistant. After she stopped working with aesthetics throughout her professional life, creativity returned in full in the form of a lot of painting/drawing.
For her, this is a kind of meditative activity that she practices every day, and something that gives her peace and great joy. Sirikit finds inspiration in most things, through the media, nature, everyday life, literature etc.
Strong colours, abstract motifs, often with a bit of irony and humour, there is a lot of that in her pictures. As she has practiced various techniques, she has mixed them and seems to express herself best through mixed media.

Rivedal is best known for being the place from which the first Norwegian Vikings left to settle on Iceland and a statue of Ingólfr Arnarson is situated at the foot of the valley. An identical statue can also be found in Reikjavik, capital of Iceland.
